 "A Live Record" is the first live album by the British progressive rock band Camel, released in April 1978. It's a significant release for fans as it captures the band's dynamic live performances during a crucial period of their career, showcasing their original lineup and material from their early, highly acclaimed albums.

This is a double LP (two vinyl records), comprising recordings from three different tours between 1974 and 1977 at various UK venues, including:

  • The Marquee Club, London (October 1974): Featuring tracks from their Mirage album.
  • Royal Albert Hall, London (October 1975): This side is particularly notable as it features a complete live performance of their instrumental concept album, The Snow Goose, performed with the London Symphony Orchestra. This collaboration was a highlight of their career and is often considered a pinnacle of symphonic progressive rock.
  • Hammersmith Odeon, London (September/October 1977)
  • Colston Hall, Bristol (October 1977)
  • Leeds University (October 1977): These later recordings feature material from their Rain Dances album.

"A Live Record" serves as a comprehensive overview of Camel's sound during their peak progressive rock period, blending intricate instrumental passages, melodic guitar and keyboard interplay, and the band's characteristic atmospheric soundscapes.
