On their first album, Genesis Climber offer up a hard rock-infused take on prog, with tracks such as “Silver Throne Mountain”, “The Cosmos Of The Mind”, and “In The Grave Of Kings”.  While the song names are grandiose, the music itself rarely rises to their suggested level of complexity.  There are stretches with some very competent performances meshing together well, but with just a bit too much filler, which tends to leech their momentum and energy away, bringing down the strong parts with the under-cooked aftertaste of the less impressive sections.  Still, it’s a respectable first album, with the promise of some memorable stuff to come should they trim out some of the fat and sharpen their edges.
