Description

2 "National Guard show" radio show transcription discs produced by The United States National Guard.  Four complete 15 minute radio programs on these two 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm discs.  These discs were issued to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!

These excellent radio programs Star Mindy Carson with sports reporter Bill Stern.  Music is by Andrew "Andy" Ackers & His Orchestra.   Each program includes a "Spotlight On Sports" segment with Bill Stern, who was the nation's leading sports reporter at the time these shows were produced.  All programs include National Guard recruiting announcements.

“National Guard Show” radio program #11.  Mindy Carson sings "An Apple For The Teacher", "If I Could Be With You (One Hour Tonight)", "East Of The Sun West Of The Moon".  Bill Stern's "Spotlight On Sports" discusses Ohio State Football including the 1949 Rose Bowl Victory over USC & other important Ohio State football games with exciting endings.  15 minutes

“National Guard Show” radio program #12.  Mindy Carson sings "Ev'ry Day (I Fall In Love), "And There You Are In Love", "I'm In The Mood For Love".  Bill Stern's "Spotlight On Sports" discusses the horse Man O' War & his one loss to horse "Upset", a race he should have won but didn't.  15 minutes

“National Guard Show” radio program #13.  Mindy Carson sings "Blue Skies", "A Rainy Day Refrain", "Can't We Talk It Over".  Bill Stern's "Spotlight On Sports" talks about the most unusual basketball game he ever witnessed.  15 minutes

“National Guard Show” radio program #14.  Mindy Carson sings "You Were Meant For Me", "Looks Like A Cold Winter", "Do I Worry".  Bill Stern's "Spotlight On Sports" discusses the 1928 Stanley Cup finals New York Rangers vs. Montreal Maroons, and the coach who took over as goalie  15 minutes

Discs are in Excellent Condition with Excellent or better sound

Due to their size, 16 inch discs may not play on standard turntables.   I will make a CD copy of both discs for the buyer only
