I grade conservatively. Grading for vinyl is VG-/ VG/ VG+/ NM and sealed. 

I do not use “EX”, but my equivalent grade is VG++. 

I only offer trashed or unplayable records for auction if they are exceptionally rare.

"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" and "High Voltage" (international version)

-- very rare South African issue, with cartoon cover for High Voltage

– VINYL:

– Visually (under bright light):

– The records are USED, but still have plenty of shine. The distinctive Atlantic 

red & black labels have a few spindle marks only, but are otherwise clean with 

no writing or stickers. 

– Dirty Deeds... vinyl has several fine sleeve-removal-type scuff marks from the 

inner sleeve and some ultra fine or hairline scratches as well, but there are 

NO feelable scratches. Visually, Dirty Deeds appears to have been played more often 

than High Voltage and grades as VG+ / VG++.

– High Voltage vinyl has only minimal evidence of having being payed. Apart from 

a few sleeve-removal-type scuff marks from the inner sleeve, the record looks clean. 

The best copy I have seen of this one. Visually, High Voltage grades as VG++/ NM.

– Audio:

– Dirty Deeds (Side One): there is more evidence of wear ('static', 'crackle') on this side 

than on any other Side. Some surface noise at the start of play and a little way into the 

first song. Play is quite variable on this side as can be seen below. 

1. A brief, but audible 'click' on the title track. 

2. The first two songs grade as Very Good / Very Good Plus although play is sometimes 

closer to VG++ as well. 

3. Big Balls and Rocker grade as VG- / VG only (more audible wear than on the other songs). 

4. Problem Child: Very Good / VG +

- Dirty Deeds (Side Two): grades between VG+ and VG++ overall, although on certain cuts 

e.g. Aint No Fun, play grades closer to VG++ or better.

– Ride play grades as Very Good only. 

– High Voltage (Side Three): grades as solid VG++ and better.

– High Voltage (Side Four): what occasional minimal surface noise there is on Side Four 

and Side Three in the form of 'static' or 'tics' or the odd soft 'pop' -- and which can probably be 

attributed, in most instances, to the pressing itself -- is not intrusive and does not spoil one's enjoyment 

of the music. On Side Four some songs grade between VG+ and VG++ whereas other songs 

grade as VG++ and better. 

– COVER:

– The cover has a number of flaws. These include pronounced ring wear, creasing, dirt, marks, 

edge wear. 

There is unmistakable wear to both openings -- 'feathering' -- including some small tears, 

plus noticeable damage to the inside of the cover for Dirty Deeds (photographed). 

Another serious flaw is that there are two approx. 3 cm seam splits to the top of both seams.

– Otherwise, on the plus side: no writing or stickers, the writing on the spine is still legible, 

and the cover is fully functional. 

Given the flaws mentioned above, I would grade the cover as Fair-verging-on-Poor.

(Other sellers may decide to grade as "Good").

– To sum up:

– The cover, as mentioned, and as can be seen from the photographs, has several flaws 

and is NOT in the best condition, but it is still fully functional. 

– In terms of the vinyl, High Voltage is in better condition overall than Dirty Deeds. 

Side Three (High Voltage) is the best Side and grades as solid VG++ and sometimes better. 

Side One (Dirty Deeds), on the other hand, plays with more wear than any other Side. 

Some songs grade as VG / VG+, while Big Balls and Rocker have clearly audible wear 

and grade as VG- / VG only.

– N.B. Although Side One is a slightly noisier listen overall than the other Sides, and although 

there is some deterioration in the sound on Big Balls and Rocker, the hard rocking vibe is generally 

what dominates the listening experience on all four Sides. For the most part the LPs play well, 

with the music to the forefront. What imperfections do exist -- i.e. various instances of 'static', 'tics', 

'crackle' etc. on or between tracks or on the quieter numbers -- are largely non-intrusive, and become part of the listening experience vs. spoiling one's enjoyment of the music.

– NO distortion. Both albums are still fully playable and enjoyable despite being USED. 

They are pre-enjoyed, but can still be cranked up and enjoyed!

Sides 1-4 play right through without 'skips', 'jumps', or 'sticks'.

– A rare find for the serious AC DC collector.
