Here are TWO RARE albums featuring smooth jazz vocalist Billie Holiday from my collection up for sale: One is a beautiful 1950's DJ PROMO ONLY pressing that has been well cared for, looks minimally played! The other is a vintage 1959 original first pressing that has some marks but is still play-worthy!
FIRST: a RARE 1950's DJ ONLY PROMO lp record featuring Billie Holiday, Gene Krupa and others, "Clef Records Disc Jockey Copy DJ C-2". This album has the 1950's style Clef labels, was not sold in stores! The heavy weight vinyl rates strong EX, is super glossy and clean, maybe one faint mark to a pristine looking disc, looks minimally played, has been PLAY TESTED! Plays very good from start to finish, a bit very light surface noise (unobtrusive), a VERY enjoyable listen! The cover rates EX, is clean, bright orange color, no stains, no ring wear, top seam has partial split neatly repaired with non-yellowing clear tape, rear cover has faint signature, (see all photos), has been well cared for all these years!
PLUS: A vintage 1959 album by Billie Holiday "Lady In Satin", this is an original first pressing released on Columbia Records CS 8048 Stereo, has the vintage 6-eye labels, has some marks but still play-worthy! The heavy weight vinyl rates VG+, is glossy and clean, has some light marks and a small more moderate mark, has been PLAY TESTED! Plays through no problem, a few errant pops, some light surface noise that is mostly unobtrusive, her vocal really comes through! A VERY enjoyable record! The cover rates VG/VG+, has great color, minimal ring wear, has edge and corner wear, all seams had partial splits neatly repaired with non-yellowing clear tape, front has sticker mark, rear cover is bright and clean but has small pen writing near corner, nice portrait of Billie on front cover!
