Description

2 x original The Rolling Stones lp records.


Firstly, their debut self titled mono lp, released in 1964 on the Decca label, catalogue number LK 4605.


The original pressing matrix numbers are XARL-6271-1A / XARL-6272-3A. This lp also has 'Mona' listed on the sleeve and side 1 track listing, whilst 'Honest I Do' has writing credits to 'Hurran / Calvert', which again are features of the original release. The centre label is the red unboxed Decca label.


The record has been particularly well looked after, having a lovely shine and playing with clear sound quality. Visually, side 1 is almost spotless, whilst there's just a couple of very light hairlines on side 2. Otherwise, it's superbly clean. I would grade the record as very good + condition.


The record comes in it's original inner sleeve and this has a magazine cut out picture from the time of Mick Jagger taped to it, which is a nice touch.


The back of the outer sleeve has a very slight nick near the opening, some discolouration as well as marking and a name written on it whilst the front has a 'Mr. Mix' sticker attached. The spine is clear and legible. Overall, the cover is more of a very good grade.


Secondly, the follow up to their first lp, The Rolling Stones 'No. 2' original 1964 unboxed Decca label mono lp, catalogue number LK. 4661.


This has the earliest pressing matrix numbers XARL-6619-1A / XARL-6620-1A and there is also the offensive 'Blind Man Text' on the cover notes, which was soon removed.


This is a superbly well looked after record with a terrific visual shine and clear sound quality on play. It's a strong very good + grade.


The record comes in it's original inner sleeve and the tape removal marks visible on it are from a couple of magazine photos of the group which were attached and have recently come off. I am including these couple of cuttings which, probably date from around 1967.


The outer sleeve is more of a very good grade. There's some discolouration on the back, an old piece of tape covering a small nick near the opening and a name written in the top right hand corner. The front cover is very nice and I'll just mention that it also has a 'Mr. Mix' sticker attached to it.


In summary, a couple of top rate original vinyl records with good front cover sleeves, albeit with with a small sticker on each and discolouration, slight nicks and a name written on the back of the sleeves.
