Description
This twelve (12) record set is all on 10 inch 78rpm shellac discs. It is presented in what I think might not be the original case but nevertheless is housed in a double sided paper sleeved within a binder album. They are double sided records so 24 tracks in total. The catalogue numbers range numerically from R 1016 to R 1027 and the labels are blue with gold writing.
The last 4 composite photographs show the labels from side 01 to side 24. I believe the set was issued in 1931 and compiled by the famous German musicologist Curt Sachs (1881-1959), but there is no date on them. It would make them over 90 years old. On the records you will find recorded music from the last 2000 years, starting from early Greek Music before Christ, to Troubadours, Madrigal, early Baroque Music, to Bach. All played by superior artists.
The records have been stored for decades in a cool attic but will need a clean up. I will not do that because I am no expert in these matters. I will leave the cleaning up to you. The records are shellac which is very brittle. However, I have checked each record and none are broken. One has a slight visible scratch on one side which might clean off. This record set weighs 3.5kgs (7.5lbs) so is not cheap to mail to you but I am happy to mail anywhere in the world.
