Description
I am selling a rare 7" acetate record that we recently acquired from a serious collector, and I will attempt to describe it as accurately as I can. Features the songs "26 Steps" and "Drinking With the Blues". This 45 rpm acetate record was probably made in the 1960's in Gainesville, Texas, and unfortunately the artist isn't listed. The label is hand typed on both sides, and I believe it to be an original or a test pressing of some sort, but am not sure. The song "26 Steps" was released by Buck Griffin commercially, but the version on this record sounds quite different. It is much more mellow and subdued with a single guitar, versus the more upbeat official release with extra instruments and female back up singers. The other track "Drinking With the Blues" sounds like it could be Buck Griffin, but I am not sure. Acetate looks "VG+" with a few light scratches, but plays very well overall, with perhaps 1 or 2 minor background pops. Comes in original generic Audiodisc sleeve which has "original song with guitar" hand written on one side. Please listen to the videos we have uploaded of these songs at the following links:
