Up for sale is... a HUGE lot of (272) ULTRA RARE Fred Mark "Dance With Me / I've Seen Life" Popcorn / Funk / Northern Soul 45 records, on OMEGA label (OR-842A / OR-842B). Some background on these: Any Fred Mark records apparently are very rare; we've only found a handful of ANY his records sold on the internet, the most common examples still being quite valuable. NONE of Mark's records are common by any means. The "Dance With Me / I've Seen Life" 45 seems practically nonexistent; we have found only ONE example of this record, which sold on eBay in 2015 for $81 (popsike), and it was used...This case of (272) came from a record store in Detroit, MI that closed in the late 70's. They remain a fantastic and rare example of Detroit Funk / Northern Soul vinyl.
If you do the math, at $80 ea..the retail on this lot is in excess of $20,000.00!!! We consider this lot an AMAZING investment opportunity. The likelihood of a dealer being able to move 272 of these quickly is not very high, and we realize that..but, northern soul is among the hottest genres on the market, and this is about as obscure and rare as you'll find. Also, consider that it is possible that this may be the only examples of this record in this grade..and whoever purchases this lot will control that market.
We Will NOT break up this lot, and sell single copies or smaller lots. We want ONE dealer or investor to own them all. Then he or she can determine how or when they are sold. We have Decided to Auction This Lot Off, to the Highest Bidder.
These records are ALL New Old Stock; they have never been used or circulated. You may find dust, discoloration on the record sleeves, or other minimal signs of aging / wear, but the vinyl is MINT. It is important to note the box they're in you see photographed is NOT the original case for these records, but rather just the box we found them in. Please ask if you have any questions.
