READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

2-LP Barrel Full of Monkees Colgems 1971 EXTREMELY RARE EX PROMO COVER!
YES, I hate to sell it!
Next to the MONO 1968 pressing of The Monkees LP, The Birds, The Bees and The Monkees, this is the second-rarest in their catalogue.
Colgems folded at the beginning of 1971, and this LP was the last release for the label. Shortly after the record hit the stores, this title was discontinued completely, not even giving the album a chance to sell.
This is a copy of the scarcest variation in existence. Only one promo cover has surfaced so far.
This is it.
Vinyl--- NM all four sides. Gorgeous, drop dead stunning vinyl looks hardly ever played. Full shine.
Plates--- Machine-stamped RCA catalogue numbers, followed by 1S, all four sides.
Cover--- Structurally solid. All seams have minor shelfwear, but NO SPLITS. Promo designation is at the top left stamped into the back cover. See photo.
Gatefold--- Inside gatefold has some light stains at the bottom. See photo. No center splits in the seam.
Labels--- NM all four labels. Brand new, full gloss shine. Blinding labels, NO SPINDLE MARKS.
NOTE: In late 1970, Colgems changed their label design, which featured the round Colgems logo to the left of the playhole. The new labels also deleted the Screen Gems logo that was previously located to the right of the playhole. The vast majority of copies of this LP features that newly designed logo to the order of about 90% of them.
However, the very first few copies were pressed with the older design, which featured the torch flame inside the Columbia letter “C” to the left of the playhole, and the Screen Gems logo to the right of it. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE EARLIER COPIES, which would make sense, since this is the promo.

Inner Sleeves--- Issued with generic white inner sleeves with the die-cut holes for the labels to show through.
This will guaranteed be your one and only chance. To date, no other promo copies have surfaced, and these earlier labels are 90% rarer than the other copies that you will find for purchase of this impossible-to-begin-with album.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
