Description

2LP MILES DAVIS Bitches Brew  (Dutch first pressing)

After a hiatus of a few months I am back selling parts of my LP collection. Watch this space – there will be more soon! Please see grading and shipping information below.

With the style defining Bitches Brew Miles Davis turned to a then completely new jazz-rock approach. Released in March 1970 Bitches Brew reached the pop Top 40, became Davis' first gold record and won the Grammy for large-group jazz performance. Many of the future stars of the evolving jazz-rock fusion of the 1970ies were part of the project. Among them were Joe Zawinul, John McLaughlin, Wayne Shorter and Chick Corea to name a few.

I am offering the Dutch first pressing from 1970 on the classic orange CBS label. I bought this one new in 1971 and it has been part of my collection since then. The VG+ vinyl is flat, clean and shiny, no scratches, clicks, pops or anything that would interfere with the music. You may hear some static sound on the very quiet last track on side four. That is the reason for the VG+ grading, otherwise it would have been EX. The beautiful cover is VG+, too. There are very slight traces of ring wear and corner scuffing, nothing else.

 Vinyl

M (MINT): Absolutely perfect, never been played, possibly even still sealed.

NM (NEAR MINT ): Nearly perfect, no obvious signs of wear.  The vinyl is  flawless, bright and shiny. One  minor, barely visible scuff or two may be there, but no scratches.  The disc  plays with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked.

EX/VG++ (EXCELLENT/VERY GOOD ++):  The record has a minimum of visual or audible imperfections, but still nearly  perfect. There may be  minor paper scuffs, a hairline scratch or two  that do not interfere with sound quality.  Vinyl is bright and shiny,  label is clean and unmarked.

VG+ (VERY GOOD +):  Vinyl will still have good luster.   Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact on the sound quality. There may be slight warps that do not affect the sound. Labels may have minor imperfections, but no  deformation oft he spindle hole.

VG (VERY GOOD):  There will be scratches/scuffs that cause minor surface noise in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade. It does not overpower the music.  Vinyl may appear  dull/grayish. Labels may have small tears, stickers (or their residue)  and  writing. There may be wear/deformation of the spindle hole.  The record will not have all of these problems, only two or  three of them.

G (GOOD): The record will play through without any skips. But there are scratches and visible groove  wear  it will have significant surface noise and. Labels may be significantly defaced or damaged.

F (FAIR)/P (POOR): The record shows deep scratches, is  badly warped, and won't play through without skipping.

Album Cover

M (MINT):  Absolutely perfect.

NM (NEAR MINT): Sleeve should have only  minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling. It should have no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes  or other noticeable defects. The same should be true of inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves etc.

EX/VG++ (EXCELLENT / VERY GOOD ++): The cover may have a couple of imperfections such as sticker residue, a bit more wear than NM, slight corner crease , a very small notch, very small writing, or very light surface wear in one place.

VG+ (VERY GOOD +): Covers  are clean but may have a few defects such as stickers/residue, edgewear, light ringwear, corner wear, minor writing, small surface  tears or creasing,  a cut-out hole, but no splits or tears.

VG (VERY GOOD): Covers show even more wear than VG+. Seams may be starting to split or may have been repaired with  tape. There may be moderate ringwear, yellowing or discoloration, larger writing, labels or marks, corner  damage/ creases .  It will not have all of these problems, only two or three of them.

G (GOOD): Some  but not all of these  flaws: Seam splits, large marker writing, significant ring wear, damaged corners, tears, cuts, gouges, masking or duct tape seam repairs, or other flaws and damage.

F (FAIR)/P (POOR): The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marked by wear and writing.  Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon.
