2UE'S JANUARY JAMBOREE

DIGGING THRU MY STOCK ABOUT A WEEK AGO I DISCOVERED THIS LITTLE GEM.

IT IS A 10", ONE SIDE SG AND WAS RECORDED BY 2UE IN THEIR SYDNEY STUDIO. LISTENING TO THE MATERIAL RECORDED, IS NOT VERY LONG, ABOUT 6-7 MIN, I WOULD SAY, IT WAS RECORDED IN 1959, AS THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT ONE 59, AND I WILL PRESUME IT IS ABOUT THE YEAR 1959. I MAY BE WRONG, BUT I DON'T THINK IT VERY IMPORTANT ANYWAY.

DOING SOME RESEARCH IN 2UE HISTORY IT FITS VERY WELL IN THAT ERA 1959-1960. (NICE MATERIAL AND EDUCATIVE READING ON "AUSTRALIAN OLD TIME RADIO" BY ALLAN BLACK)

WHAT IS ABOUT?

THE DJ, DICK FAIR (IF I GOT HIS NAME RIGHT?!) IS TALKING ABOUT THE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN, CALLED JANUARY JAMBOREE, SOON TO COME.

COVER CONDITION: THE COVER I FOUND THE RECORD IN, AND SELL IT WITH, BELONGED TO A DIFFERENT RECORD FROM 2UE LIBRARY, IT WAS ONE DEDICATED TO AN AD FOR NESTLE. SO IS JUST A GENERIC BAG WITH THIS STICKER ABOUT NESTLE ON.
