3 "The Jolson Story" & "Jolson Sings Again" 16" Promotional Radio Transcription Discs. These discs were issued to radio stations to promote these movies and not available to the general public, Very Rare!
"The Jolson Story" two sided promotional disc from WOR Electrical Transcription from 1946. Side one features an 11 minute promotional radio program featuring excerpts of songs from the movie as selected by other musicians as their favorite Al Jolson songs - for example, Frank Sinatra's favorite Al Jolson song is "April Showers". A total of 6 partial songs selected by Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dinah Shore, Russ Morgan Evelyn Keyes. Side two features 9 shorter movie promos, please see the scan for more details. Disc is in very good to excellent condition with excellent- sound
"Jolson Sings Again" one sided disc from Columbia Electrical Transcription from 1949. This features a 12 minute promotional radio program starring Jinx Falkenberg & Tex McCrary who provide an excellent preview of the movie. Many partial Al Jolson songs from the movie including "Is It True What They Say About Dixie", "After You've Gone", "When The Red Red Robin Comes Bob Bob Bobin Along", "Baby Face", "I Only Have Eyes For You", "I'm Looking Over A Four Leaf Clover". Disc is in very good to excellent condition with excellent- sound
"Jolson Sings Again" one sided promotional disc from Columbia Electrical Transcription from 1949. This disc contains 9 promotional announcements for the movie, please see the scan for more details. There is a crack in this disc that effects the first 4 tracks only. There are no skips and the disc plays fine, just creates an occasional click. Otherwise, disc in very good condition with very good or better sound
Due to their size, 16 inch discs will not play on most standard turntables. I will include a CD transfer of each disc for the buyer only
