Really cool small collection of original rock and soft rock 78's from the mid-late 50's. The rarest of these is the Paul Anka 78, from 1957. At this time, 45's were selling about 10 to one or more, so 78 versions are rare to begin with. Also, the latter day 78's were made from very fragile shellac, more so than the ones a decade earlier, so they usually cracked or wore out from use. Another cool thing is this one is apparently UNPLAYED and in near mint. there is no spindle wear to the perfect labels, the spindle hole is perfect too. There is no greying of the grooves either and it looks just about mint. The likelihood of an early rock 78 surviving in this condition is so very high! I've never seen a rock 78 in this condition in my years of collecting and I've seen VERY many. Nearly all of these records, which were rare to begin with, are in pieces or scratched to death, long ago finding their way to the city dump! This one is scarce!
The other two, Tenessee Ernie Ford and Johnny Mathis are rare as well for the same reasons, and both are in EXCELLENT condition, with just a very few plays and no groove wear to speak of. If you have a nice old 78 player or Jukebox these are amazingly clean examples to ad to your collection and enjoy the superior sound of these shellacs… so much more fidelity than anything at the time, but so delicate, many aren't aware of their amazing sound! I have included in the purchase price shipping via media mail and a sturdy custom made mailer with the 78's in a vintage 3-record album for extra protection and insurance. I have had experience shipping these and know what it takes to have them arrive in one piece.
