Description:Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one featuring 3LP by the late saxophone player, Ornette Coleman.
Randolph Denard Ornette Coleman (March 9, 1930 – June 11, 2015) was an American jazz saxophonist, violinist, trumpeter and composer. He was one of the major innovators of the free jazz movement of the 1960s, a term he invented with the name of an album. Coleman's timbre was easily recognized: his keening, crying sound drew heavily on blues music. He was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship (genius grant) in 1994.

Several unique things about this item: Firstly, these discs retain the original shine with only some very light pressing imperfections on the first two and some very light sleeve marks on the Change of the century disc grading by sight in normal room light. I'm sure if you took these and put them under a 1000 watt bulb, you'd probably find something that makes them less than mint. If you're that kind of collector, and after a recent unpleasant experience with a buyer from Malaysia, let me suggest this auction is not for you.

I don't claim these records are mint. I did take the time to play thru the most prominent pressing imnperfection on each disc, noting only four muffled pops on the one. The other did not sound. Based on past experience and visual examination, I'd expect the tracks to audibly average close to half way between VG+(excellent) and Near Mint.

If you want an audio grade of an entire record before bidding, no problem, just drop me a note well in advance of the end of auction. Keep in mind how it plays for me may differ how it plays for you based on differences in audio equipment.

Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

• NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
• 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
• 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
• VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
• VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
• G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

I normally ship LPs in 13x13x2 standard record mailers. Weight with box is 2 pounds 2 oz. Shipping is $3.72 Media Rate (2-3 pounds) + $1.19 box online tracking = $4.91.

Alternative, I can ship in a 14 x 14 x 6" box. Weight with box is about 2 pound 9 oz. Shipping is $3.72 Media Rate (2-3 pounds) + $1.85 box/tape/packing = $5.57.
