Description

This auction is for three superb condition independently-released blues LPs from 1965-6, titled “The Post-War Blues”. The first (“pwb1”) concentrates on Chicago bluesmen, featuring sixteen classic blues tracks from Johnny Shines, Willie Nix, Little Willy Foster, J.B. Hutto, Othum Brown, Little Walter J., Johnny Williams, Johnny Young, John Lee Henley and Junior Wells. It includes liner notes inside. The second (“pwb2”) concentrates on Memphis and Mississippi Delta bluesmen and features another sixteen tracks, this time from James De Berry & Walter “Shakey” Horton, Joe Hill Louis, Willie Love and His Three Aces, Levi Seabury, Charley Booker, “Harmonica” Frank Floyd, Junior Brooks, Drifting Slim, Luther Huff and Boyd Gilmore. This time, the liner notes are on the back. The third (“pwb3”) concentrates on the blues from the eastern and gulf coast states. Once more, sixteen tracks are included, from Dan Pickett, John Lee, Doug Quattlebaum, Skoodle Dum Doo (aka Seth Richards) & Sheffield, Leroy Dallas, Country Paul, Blues King (aka “Guitar Slim” Alex Seward), Curley Weaver and Julius King.
