"Heroes" is the twelfth studio album by David Bowie, released on RCA Records in October 1977. The second instalment of his "Berlin Trilogy" recorded with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti, "Heroes" continued the ambient experiments of Bowie's previous album Low (released earlier that year) and featured the contributions of guitarist Robert Fripp. Of the three albums, it was the only one wholly recorded in Berlin. Upon its release, it was met with positive critical reception and was named NME Album of the Year. The title track remains one of Bowie's best known and acclaimed songs.
Lodger is the thirteenth studio album by English singer-songwriter David Bowie, released in 1979. The last of the 'Berlin Trilogy' recorded in collaboration with Brian Eno, it was produced in Switzerland and New York City, and was more accessible than its immediate predecessors Low and"Heroes", having no instrumentals and being somewhat lighter and more pop-oriented; however, it was still an experimental record in many ways.
It was not, by Bowie's standards, a major commercial success. Indifferently received by critics on its initial release, it is now widely considered to be among Bowie's most underrated albums.
Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps), also known simply as Scary Monsters, is the fourteenth studio album by David Bowie, released in September 1980 by RCA Records. It was his final studio album for the label and his first following the so-called Berlin Trilogy of Low, "Heroes" andLodger (1977–79). Though considered very significant in artistic terms, the trilogy had proven less successful commercially.[1] With Scary Monsters, however, Bowie achieved what biographer David Buckley called "the perfect balance";[2] as well as earning critical acclaim, the album peaked at No. 1 in the UK and restored Bowie's commercial standing in the US.
Although the album is commonly referred to as Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps), in keeping with the song title, and the album title as written on the front and back covers of the LP is Scary Monsters . . . . . and Super Creeps, the album is identified simply as Scary Monsters on the LP spine and disc label.
