One of many, very rare lps featuring David Oistrakh, Nathan Milstein, Leonid Kogan, Johanna Martzy, Ida Haendel,
Rosalyn Tureck, Samson Francois & Wilhelm Backhaus listed this week, including some "Grails" and Test Pressings.
Very rare lp in excellent condition.
Columbia 1st UK blue / gold label. ED1

Vinyl is EX. Overall the lp sounds fantastic with very minor background noise in places. Below is a full description of the playback. As it is unaccompanied violin, most of the faults are only relevant because of the very exposed nature of the playing. It is a very enjoyable listen.
In detail: Side one: There is a small non-sounding scuff at the start of the side. A couple of tiny pressing flaws create 5 heartbeats at the start and then 10 low level heartbeats a little later followed a minute or so later by 12 light tics. The odd scattered tic.
Side Two: 3 low-level heartbeats at the start. Band 2 has five light tics, then eight tics a while later. Band four has 4 tics. Band five has 4 pops at the end, two of which are in the gap before band six.
