33CX 1415 Blue/Gold – OISTRAKH / YAMPOLSKY – TARTINI / MOZART – VIOLIN SONATAS
Columbia mono recording on blue/gold label, catalogue number 33CX 1415. David Oistrakh (violin) and Valadimir Yampolsky (piano) playing Sonata in G minor ("Devil’s Trill") by Tartini (arr. Kreisler) and Sonata No.32 in B flat major K.454 by Mozart.
Overall the disc is clean and shiny. Side 1 (Tartini) has barely visible hairline marks and we could detect 4 very light random ticks. Side 2 has a 1½cm light scratch on track 2 which produces 9 consecutive light ticks. Throughout the rest of side 2 there are about 12 random ticks – these are mostly barely audible. The sleeve is scruffy with edge/corner damage and a very unsightly taped repair to a split on the front (we have not attempted to remove the tape); see photo. Owner’s name in ink on rear.
