Description
Some of the veteran and more serious eBay collectors of classical vinyl may recognise my tag of Frenchnephew (?) For some time I sold a large number of vinyl records, the vast majority being of the classical genre. Being a genuinely serious collector of classical vinyl myself, I sold in order to finance my own collection. I never received a single negative feedback for any record, as I prided myself in dealing with all buyers promptly, honestly and decently.
I effectively retired from eBay some 18 months ago, as I was tired of the self-styled ‘dealers’ who had infested the market. They have clearly got their hands on a classical vinyl price guide, and become instant experts !? This is still clearly the case.
However, I have decided to list a small selection (32) of high quality classical recordings over the next four evenings, to establish whether the decent and serious collectors are still out there (?) Basically, I am missing the community and the thrill of the auction !
The following are 32 x highly collectable classical LP’s that I have selected to list over the next few evenings. Many are first edition stereos, several hold a considerable Book Price. As always, I offer a full and unequivocal refund (including postage) if the buyer is not 100% satisfied with their purchase.
Please be assured that I have no intention of profiting from the postage costs, so all prices quoted are based on the weight of the record, sleeve and packaging, (a custom-made card transport sleeve with a minimum of 2 x stiffeners), plus the cost of this packaging.
My starting prices are based on 20 – 25 % of the established ‘Book Price’ for the more valuable recordings. The finishing price rests entirely with the market, as I will not set any reserve. Recordings with no established or recognised ‘Book Price’ will start at a low price. This will ensure these items find their own market value.
I will only be listing vinyl in near mint or excellent condition, so please see the item description for each individual item’s condition – I will endeavour to be specific with each record, as opposed to using general condition descriptions.
Happy bidding - Frenchnephew !!
