Vinyls: VG-MINT-MINT. Clean on visual inspection.  (Pink Panther has a number of minor light scratches but is playable with no jumping, skipping or sticking. I have played this recently.)
Covers and sleeves: VG-MINT-MINT. Colours are unfaded and no tears on sleeves. Fine examples of all three. (Pink Panther sleeve colour is unfaded and vibrant though one point on cover: there are white specks of damage near the top centre about 1-2cm wide. See photos. No obvious damage is elsewhere.?

An album of dreamy lounge cuts & Latin-tinged numbers!

Vinyl: G-VG. It has a number of minor light scratches but is playable with no jumping. Clicks are to be expected. I have played this recently and it is ok.
Cover and sleeve: VG. Sleeve colour is unfaded and vibrant though one point on cover: there are white specks of damage near the top centre about 1-2cm wide. See photos. No obvious damage is elsewhere.

Review:

The Pink Panther is another fine, early-'60s soundtrack from Henry Mancini.

The title track became one of his most recognizable themes and kicks off a pleasant programme of dreamy lounge cuts and Latin-tinged numbers.

As he did on many other movie/TV albums (Touch of Evil, Peter Gunn, etc.), Mancini also includes some noirish, big band numbers, like "The Tiber Twist" and the main title.

Along with these up-tempo songs, he balances out the mostly light material with the solidly swinging mambos "The Village Inn," "Something for Sellars" (as in Peter Sellars, the movies' star), and "It Had Better Be Tonight" (co-written by frequent partner Johnny Mercer and something of a minor vocal hit upon its release). The program's highlights, though, come from the kind of sublime (some might say cheesy) ballads he usually included on his soundtracks; the after-hours jazz tune "Royal Blue" stands out in particular, with its tasteful string arrangement and glowing trumpet solo.

 This is a great title for fans of Mancini's lounge/soundtrack material, but those more into his jazz material should consider either his Peter Gunn or Combo soundtracks.

Review:

Blake Edwards’ Revenge of the Pink Panther, the last film featuring Peter Sellers as the clumsy Inspector Clouseau (Trail of the Pink Panther was shot in 1982 after Sellers’ death; it was edited with outtakes from previous Panther films).

Naturally, the score was composed by Henry Mancini. In addition to including his iconic “Pink Panther Theme” in ’70s disco style, Mancini provided more than an hour of new, original material. Full of classy melodies, the score contains two fine romantic tunes (“After the Shower” and “Simone”), a funny pop song with lyrics by Leslie Bricusse (“Move ’Em Out”), a frantic chase scene along the streets of Hong Kong, and lots of descriptive music.

This album, released by United Artist Records in 1978, has been out of print and very difficult to find for a long time.

Here's an assortment of movie themes and interludes composed by Henry Mancini; in addition to the original "Pink Panther Theme" there are visitations from Revenge of the Pink Panther and The Pink Panther Strikes Again, as well as the succulent theme from A Shot in the Dark. Mancini's little universe is populated with relaxing lounge piano (played by Mancini), campy dynamic action themes and the occasional syrupy group vocal infestation.
