Description
Four classic early Elton John LPs – all first issue UK releases.
As I am unable to play test these records my grading of the vinyl is based on a visual inspection, but any significant marks are noted. Grading LPs can be subjective, so please do examine the photos carefully, as well as reading the comments and the grading guidelines. Any questions – please just ask. Thanks for looking.
Empty Sky (1969)
DJM Records – DJLPS 403 – A2 B3
Original first UK pressing on translucent red vinyl.
Vinyl: VG
Some light marks on each side but otherwise fine.
Cover: VG-
Gatefold cover clean but a few staining marks and some general wear.
Inner: VG
Plain white paper inner with a few creases and a small pen mark.
Elton John (1970)
DJM Records – DJLPS 406 – A4 B1
Original first UK pressing on translucent red vinyl.
Vinyl: EX-
A couple of light marks on each side but otherwise fine.
Cover: VG
Original ‘soft card’ gatefold cover is clean with just some light edge wear and corner tip rub.
Inner: VG
White poly-lined inner clean with just a few creases, no splits.
Tumbleweed Connection (1970)

Just a few light marks.
Cover: VG
Textured gatefold cover with 12-page inner booklet stapled and intact. All clean with just some light edge and corner rub, very light sticker removal mark.
Inner: EX
White poly-lined inner with minimal creasing.
Madman Across The Water (1971)

A few light marks on each side.
Cover: VG
'Soft card' textured gatefold cover with inner booklet stapled and intact. All clean but with some edge and corner rub and a little ring press.
Inner: EX
Plain white paper inner with minimal creasing.

This is the actual price I pay, so I make no profit on P&P. I send all my LPs tracked and signed, which provides added security for both buyer and seller. The LPs will be securely packaged in thick card with brown tape around the edges and “FRAGILE” stickers on both sides.
RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING GUIDE
MINT: The record is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
