Gounod: Faust (Complete Opera) - Andre Cluytens UK Ed1 **HMV ASD307-310 4LP  Rare EX!

Please read everything before bidding and note that I visually grade my records. I try to be honest and very detailed in my listings.  These records all come from my personal collection of which are mostly Near Mint and very well taken care of.  There may be some cosmetic flaws, but are often minor.  I always recommend cleaning your records with proper record cleaner or a VPI machine to eliminate dust and improve sound quality and the listening experience.  Enjoy!

The 4 records/vinyl are in Very Good+ to Excellent condition. Honestly they still look glossy and very clean however, there are some sleeve swirls/scuffs noticeable throughout and occasionally a hairline surface mark or minor scratch – only on a few sides. I don’t think the surface marks would make a skip but maybe a “tick” or minor “pop”.  I don’t interpret them as being a true scratch, but more of a hairline.  I am being honest and I am only grading it visually.  I have not listened to it.  They are still in pretty nice shape for their age.

The inner paper sleeves are the original UK paper poly-lined sleeves made in England and in excellent condition with no splits or tears noticeable, just faded discoloration from age on some of them.

The booklet/libretto is in Near Mint condition with no noticeable wear.

I would grade the outer box as Good + to Very Good.  The box does have some damage, but is still functional. The glossy cover print is actually in terrific shape with the EMI gold label still intact and excellent as well. The hinge (remarkably) is fine and functional, so the box opens and closes well.  The other areas of the box show lots of shelf wear and some cracking along the seams.  The spine is intact and writing is clear, but there is a lot of wear along the top, bottom and opposite (opening) side of the cover.  There is also an address sticker on the inside of the cover.

Grading is always subjective, but overall this is still a nice representation of this first pressing record set.  I have seen worse boxes and condition, but this one is still very functional and cosmetically decent.  Please understand that I am always being honest.

Please see pictures for further detail and a better representation.

This Opera box set would still be a nice addition to your collection.
