For your consideration, you are Bidding (with NO RESERVE, beyond the minimum starting bid) on My Lot of Four (4) Vintage (Late 1940s/Early 1950s) Mad Man Muntz Used Car Radio Spots (Lots in Glendale and Los Angeles) on 16" Single-Sided Transcription Records (33-1/3 RPM Speed). (Note: See below for individual descriptions of each of the four discs). As you probably already know, these 16" transcription records CANNOT be played on standard 12" turntable 12" platters. Together, these weigh 3-Pounds 7.5-Ounces, without counting additional for layered/padded packaging. Hopefully, from the pictures and my description, you can fully appreciate what is being offered here.

Individual Descriptions

1). Muntz Series 31 Tan Label - on an RCA Victor Embossed Orthacoustic 16" flexible Vinyl Transcription Record (33-1/3 RPM Speed). There are seven (7) tracks on the record, with different radio advertising spots, but track #2 has been intentionally etched with an "X," which causes loud pops. The spots include phone numbers to encourage customers to call Muntz to get more for their car right to their door. (e.g., "For your junk, you get the most at once, from Mad Man Muntz"). The sound has background hiss, but the voices can be heard and understood. The additional beauty of this listing is on the flipside with the bright luster embossed RCA Victor name and logos. The original sleeve was brittle from age, so including a new heavy-duty sleeve.

2). Plain White Handwritten 1951 Dated Label - 13-Tracks of Different Radio Jingles on a 16" (flexible) Vinyl Transcription Record (33-1/3 RPM Speed). The singers are heard with altered, robotic non-human (1950's Martian-type) sounding voices. Each of the tracks have the same melody, but different lyrics. The jingles are sung to the tune of Three Blind Mice. Two of the tracks (#3 & #6) are intentionally etched out, with a line across the grooves, to cause them to play with loud pops. The funny ad lyrics describe Muntz as a Mad Man or crazy. (Note: See Picture #12, with an image of a vintage Muntz advertising matchbook cover found on the Web. NO matchbook.) The old sleeve was brittle, so added a new heavy-duty sleeve.

3). Blue Raymond R. Morgan Advertising Label Series 6 - (Note: Raymond R. Morgan Sr. was famed as the original producer and owner of "Queen for a Day" radio and TV show). There are several tracks on the record, with different spots. The funny ads focus of Muntz as the flamboyant alter ego "Madman Muntz." (Note: On close inspection there are tiny "X" marks around tracks number 5 & 6. There were legal issues with Muntz and the government during the war years, based on his pricing of vehicles. Maybe that is why the Xs? The record has a bright luster and mostly has clear sound.

4). Taped Label Series 5 - on an RCA Victor Embossed Orthacoustic 16" Transcription Record (33-1/3 RPM Speed). There are several tracks on the record, with different spots. The sound is NOT great, with background hiss sound, but the voices can be heard and understood. The additional beauty of this listing is on the flipside with the embossed RCA Victor name and logos. This could be used in many different ways for decorating.
