Description
Four lp lot. Avant-garde vocal works. Modern choral compositions / compositions for voice.
1) NOUVELLES AVENTURES for 3 SINGERS & 7 INSTRUMENTALISTS (1962-65) / VOLUMINA (1961/62) / ETUDE No. 1 "HARMONIES" (1967), composed by Gyorgy Ligeti, released 1975 on Candide (CE 31009). NOUVELLES AVENTURES is described in the liners as "... a model of incoherence and disjunctivity, consisting of ahs, ohs, ha-ha-has, oh-oho-ohs, moans, groans, sibilants, and crepitations". Vinyl = vg+; single light scuff does not affect play, sound is crisp. Cover = vg; prominent rubbing on the top of the spine (photo 4); punch-out on top outside corner.
2) MOMENTE for SOPRANO, 4 CHORAL GROUPS, 13 INSTRUMENTALISTS (1965 version), composed by Karlheinz Stockhausen, released 1967 on Nonesuch (H-71157), stereo. Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; NO splitting, rubbing or edge wear; boards are clean and bright.
3) IN CELEBRATION (1975) / SPEECH SONGS (1973) / THE STORY OF OUR LIVES (1974), composed by Charles Dodge, released 1976 on Composers Recordings, Inc. (CRI SD 348) stereo. Subtitled SYNTHESIZED VOICES and SYNTHESIZED SPEECH MUSIC. Printed insert is included. Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; light edge wear, NO splitting; punch-out on top inside corner; boards are clean and bright.
4) LINGUA II: MALDETTO (COMPOSITION for 7 VIRTUOSO SPEAKERS), composed 1967-68 by Kenneth Gaburo, released 1974 on Composers Recordings, Inc. (CRI SD 316), stereo. Gatefold jacket. Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; 2" split on the top and bottom edges; top outside corner is notched; boards are clean and bright.
