Mystery Train / I Forgot To Remember To Forget
SUN 223 (Last discount before being taken back into my collection-it will not automatically relist)
I went to watch Elvis at the cinema last night and remembered I had an ORIGINAL release from SUN Studios of his last release with that company, before he went over to RCA records.
Released on the 20th of August 1955, this baby has the correct hand etching in the run-out grooves: Side 1: 45-U-156X 20 (5498)
Side 2: 45-U-157X 20 (5499)
There are no push-out marks-showing this to be the original release.
It's a great little 45 and plays well. I gave her a gentle vacuum clean and then listened to both sides...Great raw audio and free from any skips, jumps or sticks. There are many light marks to the vinyl, which create some light background noise, but nothing offensive at all...It sounds all original and superb for an original slab of vinyl, born 67 years ago!
Even the ORIGINAL SUN sleeve is in great condition and free from writing, rips or tears (one tiny 1cm nick to the window of one side)!
(What looks like to be a scuff in the images of the record on my record deck are actually a reflection of the cover of my record player and NOT scuffs)
Grab a piece of history-there aren't many original issues out there!
