Description: Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one a lot of 47 boxed double records (so 94 records total) put forth by the Franklin Mint Record Society.  In my 50 years of record collecting and nearly 20 years of selling, I've never seen this many discs from this collection at one time.  Pretty unusual.  Having gone thru them all now, it appears I'm only missing 3 boxes (records #21-26).

01:18:2020: Now selling individual 2-disc sets!  Shipping all of them is going to be a bit as each box weighs about 3 pounds (x 47 boxes = 141 pounds!).  Send me a message thru e-bay for individual boxes of 2discs at $15 each + ship.  If sold individually, those records would be put in separate e-bay auctions for the individual records + ship. LOCAL PICKUP WOULD BE GREAT!

A few unique things about this item:
Firstly, of the 47 boxes (94 records) I have examined,  these records retain the original shine with no visible imperfections   grading by sight in normal room light  aside from record # 69 side A has a short 1/8" mark, can't feel it,  and two small pencil-eraser sized very lot spots on record 12 side B.

I'm sure if you took these and put them under a 1000 watt bulb, you'd probably find something that makes them less than mint.  If you're that kind of collector, let me suggest this auction is not for you.

I don't claim these records are mint.  Based on past experience and visual examination, I'd expect the tracks to average around half way between VG+(excellent) and Near Mint, with some scattered surface noise such that might be found on any record.  If you want an audio grade of an entire record, no problem, just drop me a note well in advance of the end of auction.  You can then assign your own grade based on my comments on what I heard and the GRADING SCALE BELOW!.     

Keep in mind how it plays for me may differ than how it plays for you based on differences in audio equipment. 

Secondly, these records are on red vinyl!

Thirdly, each double record comes in a hard cardboard box, and each record is encased in a hard plastic case for extra protection.  Each box has a folder on the inside attached to the spine and MOST (as noted above) have a one-page sheet from The Franklin Mint Record Society from the director, Stanley Walker.  Some have two 1-page sheets (as noted above).  The boxes have some general wear, some are a little dusty.

I am using the Goldmine scale of G=Good(1), VG = Very Good(2), VG+ = Very Good Plus(excellent)(3), NM = Near Mint(4) when grading the disc(s). 

Here is a summary of the record(s):

Additional criteria I use when audibly grading records for people:

• NM(4) = absolutely nothing wrong at all (very rarely happens--I've even opened sealed records and they don't play Near Mint)
• 3.5-3.9 = very, very light surface noise
• 3.1-3.4 = very light surface noise, very light pops
• VG+(3) = up to light pops and light surface noise (below this, one's enjoyment is affected, very subjective)
• VG(2) = up to medium pops and moderate surface noise
• G(1) = up to heavy pops and heavy surface noise

Each box of double records weighs about 3 pounds.  I can ship in all of them in 14"x14"x14" boxes, probably 3 boxes.  At 16/16/15 double record boxes inside one shipping box, about 50 pounds per box.  Media Rate would be $4.00 for the box + $28.75 Media Rate (50-51 pounds) = $32.75 shipping for one box.  Times 3 boxes = $98.25 ship.  I may be able to ship in standard boxes that I already have, so that would eliminate the cost of the box ($4 x 3 = $12).

Local pickup can avoid this cost!
