Description
Four record set, 10" 78rpm looks like, recorded by Andre Didier, on location, in the FEA.
French Equatorial Africa (French: Afrique équatoriale française), or the AEF, was the federation of French colonial possessions in Central Africa, extending northwards from the Congo River to the Sahara, and comprising what are today the countries of Chad, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, and Gabon. - Wikipedia
Four records, you can hover over the pictures for closeup to see the various song, chant, dance titles collected here.
Though some discs have visible (hair)line scratches, and will probably produce a "pop" at different points, it doesn't appear
these would cause a song to skip, but I can't be 100% sure, as its somewhat equipment related.
Records come in original binder and inner sleeves, with legible label on front cover, bit worn, chipped along the edges.
There is no date mentioned on the discs, and no inserts, if indeed there were any, remain, but its a reasonable guess that
these records date from the 1950's, as the above mentioned nations gained "independence" in 1960.
Also a safe bet that whenever they were recorded, most of these songs probably go back generations, further back
in time than they have survive since the fifties, but for unique collections like these from the Expedition.
Sold, as is. No returns. I've done best to describe them. Questions, let me know.
They are not new, nor mint, nor "museum quality". But soul is
