"The Queen's Trumpeters" by Gilmore's Band
Columbia 5" Concert Cylinder, number unknown
23. This is a great cylinder to show off your concert phonograph. It plays loud and clear and is quite a virtuoso piece for the two musicians playing the solo parts. Unfortunately, they are not identified on the announcement, only as a "Cornet duet" There is a chip at the beginning that does not touch the grooves and a light 1/2" scratch about midway through. Otherwise there is no mold damage or worn grooves. The cylinder is in an Edison box and lid, and if you're interested, the title slip glued to the lid is for Edison 7444 "Mamas Carolina Twins" by the Peerless Orchestra. You know that clean concert cylinders are had to come by, and this one's a beauty!
