These albums by Pete Terrace are a must for the serious jazz collector.  There are 5 albums in this auction, produced from 1956 to 1968. 

These albums are from an extensive collection of early jazz albums that I will be selling for a Vermont client, so look back often to take advantage of a wonderful collection. 

I take a lot of pictures as they tend to show the condition better than I can describe them.  Be sure and check out the pictures and ask for more if there is something specific you want to see. 

1.    PETE TERRACE - PETE WITH A LATIN BEAT - 1958 TICO LP-1050 

Back cover is Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)

RECORD - graded Very Good - deep groove MONO
has a few scratches and scuffs but they don't affect the listening experience.  

labels are both in excellent shape with minimal marks around spindle hole (see pictures).   

The runout areas (deadwax) have the correct markings:

SIDE A (TRLP-1050A + 4 22 58)

SIDE 2  (TRLP-1050B + 4 22 58)   


COVER - graded Good 

No laminate - no writing or price sticker on the cover - 4 1/2" seam split on top right seam - 1/2" seam split bottom right seam - opening edge has some chipping (see pictures) - some bumping on corners and opening edge (see pictures)

2.     PETE TERRACE KIBG OF THE BOOGALOO - 1968 - SOMERSET SF-31400

RECORD - graded Good to VG - STEREO

has some scratches and scuffs but they don't affect the listening experience.

labels are both in good shape - some paper loss around spindle hole and some a peppery effect (small black spots) around outside edges of label - not sure if these are original or age related) (see pictures)

The runout areas (deadwax) have the correct markings:

SIDE 1 (SF-31400 A + AS 101 A ST(with a line thru it))

SIDE 2 (SF-31400 B +AS 101 B ST (with a line thru it))

COVER - Graded Good

No laminate - no writing on the cover - two price stickers on front cover - ring wear visible on front and back of cover -  5" split seam on top right side of cover (remnants of tape), the rest of the top seam has sporadic paper loss - 2" seam split middle of bottom edge - some edge chipping and corner bumping (see pictures) - some foxing 
 

3.     PETE TERRACE GOING LOCO - 1956 FANTASY 3-203

RECORD - graded Good to Very Good - deep groove RED vinyl

has some scratches (some can be felt with fingernails) and scuffs but they don't affect the listening experience.

labels are both in good shape - some paper loss around spindle hole and grooves (see pictures)

The runout areas (deadwax) have the correct markings:

SIDE 1 (F-1526 S-1)

SIDE 2 (F-1527 S-2)

COVER - Graded Good

 no writing or price stickers on the cover - 6" seam split top right and 1 3/4" split seam top left - spine only has 1" connected, top and bottom spine seam split - some paper loss on bottom seam - some edge chipping and corner bumping (see pictures) 

4.     PETE TERRACE QUINTET ARRANGEMENTS BY JOE LOCO -  1957 FANTASY 3234

RECORD - graded Good to Very Good - deep groove RED vinyl

has some scratches (a few can be felt with fingernails) and scuffs but they don't affect the listening experience.  A RED vinyl album that has some mottled black spots inside the red vinyl?

labels are both in good shape - some wear loss around spindle holes (see pictures)

The runout areas (deadwax) have the correct markings:

SIDE 1 (V5998-1657)

SIDE 2 (V5998-1656)

COVER - Graded Fair to Good

laminate has some lifting along open edge - no writing or price stickers on the cover - small area of dirt? on right front of cover - 1 1/2" seam split on top right, rest of seams intact - some edge chipping and corner bumping (see pictures)

5.   PETE TERRACE QUINTET INVITATION TO THE MAMBO - 1956 - FANTASY 3-215

RECORD - graded FAIR - deep groove RED vinyl

has many scratches, many of which can be felt with fingertips and the listening experience does suffer from surface noise 

labels are both in good shape - some wear loss around spindle holes (see pictures)

The runout areas (deadwax) have the correct markings:

SIDE 1 (V5998-1580)

SIDE 2 (V5998-1581)

COVER - Graded Very Good

laminate has some lifting along open edge - no writing or price stickers on the cover - seams intact - some edge chipping and corner bumping (see pictures) - some light foxing on back cover

These albums play with no distortion, skipping or other major audible defects (except for album 5) light surface noise (dust/static) but never anything that interferes with the music quality.

CLEANING

I do a cautionary cleaning only, some light brushing with an approved audio carbon fiber brush and minimal use of audio cleaning solution if warranted. I do not professionally clean my records, I leave that up to the new owners.

GRADING

I utilize the industry standard for grading, Goldmine's, and I tend to grade conservatively.


PACKING
All records are shipped outside their covers, in new sleeves, packed between 2 sturdy corrugated cardboard flats and mailed in an approved record mailer.
