Once the "acetate" was played and confirmed to be deemed worthy of pressing they were of no further use to the record companies. Probably only one "acetate" was ever cut for any individual record....there seems no point in cutting additional "acetates"...!!! Hence, it is almost certain that these "Emidisc Acetates" are the only copies and each one is unique. Steve Barrow managed to obtain these from a North London Soundman / DJ circa 35 years ago and has stored them ever since. I am sure that 9 of the 10 tracks were released, however, the very first track...."Dandy - Let Them Fret" seems to be a complete mystery. I have searched extensively through various Internet Websites and Data Bases and have found nothing. I personally have never heard this track and can only assume it was cut onto this "acetate" but never released....and the best thing is.....IT'S A MONSTER.....Dandy chatting about Prince Buster, Sugar (Simone AKA Tito Simon), Coxsone, Doctor Bird Records, Melodisc Records and Island records...!!!! If anyone has any further information regarding this particular track....it would be gratefully received. All five acetates are in VG+++ / Excellent condition and have hardly been played. Track 8 does have two jumps at the beginning which I am sure can be rectified under a microscope and with the assistance of a sewing needle. (I have used this method before and it does work very well). Had I kept my microscope I would have remedied the jumps :-) Bob Brooks   1, Dandy - Let Them Fret ? 2, Dandy - In The Mood 3, Dave Barker & Ansel Collins - El Frego Baca Version 4, Dave Barker & Ansel Collins - El Frego Baca 5, Maytals - Pressure Drop 6, Unknown 7, Soul Bros - Pussy Catch A Fire 8, Destroyers - Catch This Sound (two jumps at the beginning) 9, Lloyd Robinson - Lavender Blue (Harry J. Production recorded at Studio One) 10, Harry J. All Stars - The Big Three   I have recorded one minute of all 10 sides :-)   The Soundfile will play both sides.   Click Below To Hear This Record   http://media-mobi.com/en/?play-esjvczq0vwpljqqmpe8g8yfmjbsau2ga   These Acetates have been carefully cleaned by me personally.   Steve Barrow (Blood + Fire) has decided to open his vinyl vaults. Over the next few weeks I will be listing (on Steve's behalf) a selection of awesome and Super-Rare items on E-Bay. This will be a "once in a lifetime" chance to get your hands on virtually impossible to find tunes in the finest conditions. Bob Brooks   PAYPAL ONLY...!!!
