This listing is for five U2 Vinyl records / LPs plus a mini LP.  I purchased most of these [and the separately listed 12" singles] personally at the time of release in the early to mid 1980s.  I was careful with records, however, I played some of them often and as they are 30 - 35 years old they are showing inevitable signs of age.  A lot of them have significant ring-wear and some edge-wear (if you'll pardon the pun).  Some of the lighter covers have age spots; some of the darker covers have fingerprints.  The stickers promoting the singles on the two earlier LPs should be regarded as permanent.  I believe removing them would reveal discolouration and damage the covers.  Buyer may not wish to remove the stickers anyway as I believe they may indicate early pressings because, presumably, these stickers would not have been attached to later pressings when the singles were no longer current.

A lot of my older vinyl has lost its shine.  Some of it has a milky or mottled appearance; sometimes with striations.  I have no idea if this affects sound quality.

GRADING:

Grading is subjective but I think I tend to grade conservatively so buyers will not be disappointed.  The vinyl has only been visually inspected under light.  I do not own a working stereo and the records have not been played for decades.  Therefore, records are sold "AS IS" with no guarantees regarding sound quality.  The Joshua Tree is probably in the worst condition of the lot as I believe I may have purchased this second-hand at a later stage.  The titles are as follows:

  • BOY [1980; Island Records]:  Cover: Very Good Condition overall.  Extremely minor creases near spine and edges; minor damage at opening; possibly discoloured; one noticeable age spot near left bottom corner on front cover.  Inner Sleeve:  Age spots on white side; fingerprints and a few whitish marks on dark side.  Vinyl: Retains some shine but mottled appearance; barely detectable scratches/scuffs.
  • THE JOSHUA TREE [1987; Island Records]:  Gatefold Cover: OK Condition overall.  Definite ring marks, scuffs and scratches; damage to tips of corners.  Insert:  Very significant age spots on one side; other side OK.  Vinyl: Shiny but extensively scratched ... may affect sound.
  • OCTOBER [1981; Island Records]:  Cover: Very Good Condition overall.  Extremely minor damage, particularly at opening, and minor age spotting.  Inner Sleeve:  Some age spotting, primarily at bottom corners.  Vinyl: Retains some shine but slightly mottled appearance; barely detectable scratches/scuffs.
  • RATTLE AND HUM Double LP [1988; Island Records]: Cover: OK to Good Condition overall.  Some ring wear, surface scratches and scuffing.  Damage to openings.  A few minor horizontal creases near spine and minor damage at corner tips.  Inner Sleeves:  Ring wear and age spotting.  Vinyl: Shiny but scratches evident.
  • THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE [1984; Island Records]: Cover: Good Condition overall.  Some ring wear.  A few horizontal creases near spine and minor damage at opening.  Inner Sleeve:  Discolouration and age spotting.  Loss of adhesive on edges.  Vinyl: Dull with some mottling.  A few scuffs on one side.  Otherwise, barely detectable scratches.
  •  UNDER A BLOOD RED SKY Mini LP [1983; Island Records]: Cover: Good Condition overall.  Ring wear.  Some creases near spine; some damage at opening.  Insert (Promotional Material):  Some creasing and age spots.  Vinyl: Shiny and appears near new.

POSTAGE:  The records will be sent packed in cardboard then bubble-wrap in a 5kg pre-paid satchel. Postage includes Signature on Delivery and full insurance.

A FEW NOTES FROM THE DUTCHESS:

Postage:  Recently I have received a few queries/complaints regarding postage.  I agree Australia Post is expensive but I do NOT inflate postage prices so please don't be annoyed with me.  I charge according to Australia Post charges (mostly pre-paid satchels with Signature on Delivery) then generally round up or down to the nearest dollar.  I also generally do not charge for packaging costs (tissue paper, bubble wrap, etc) but do charge if I have to purchase boxes.  I do insist on Signature on Delivery for all parcels (cost of service an extra $2.95) because PayPal policy demands this as proof if claims arise.  I am only too happy to combine postage for multiple items and, again, although it may be more expensive than a single item I do not inflate prices.  If you have purchased multiple items and paid before I send an amended invoice, I DO refund any difference in postage.  The same applies if I have quoted a price for an item which cannot be sent in a satchel and the actual cost is less than I quoted.  I do not post every day but usually at least twice a week so please be patient.
