Description
Up for auction is a very nice vinyl record album by THE TOWER ISLANDERS, titled CALYPSO & SKA LP states, TOWER ISLE HOTEL - OCHO RIOS - JAMAICA Original 50's (?) pressing on TOWER ISLE Records (no number listed)
Reportedly this vinyl record was manufactured by the Tower Isle Hotel in Jamaica. Maybe this was the house band back in the 50's, I read that this recording is by Harold Richardson and the Ticklers along Cliff Beckford. Various music styles, some ska, some Jamaican with a little night club jazz or lounge tossed in. Think a more hip sounding 'Love Boat' 70's TV Show Lounge Club Act, only maybe in the 50's.
Visually vinyl record album is VG++ to Mint Minus, due to a few light inner sleeve scuffs or a light hairline scratch or two. Near brilliant and new looking shine, sheen and bright hi-gloss. Plays loud, clear, crisp and very, very clean with no real tics or surface noise. Center labels look clean and bright with nice sharp-cornered center-holes.
Outer cover jacket is a half grade down from the vinyl record at VG++, due to a bit (slight bit) of ring wear impression near top edge on front cover, a 1" Inch bend or crease at bottom right corner, nice and tight spline, seams and three corners, lp comes out from the top edge, LP record cover is slightly over-sized, yet has nice edges with slight wear. Near brilliant whiteness on glossy back cover slick.
