WARNER BROS. 5056 MELO GENTS Baby Be Mine/ Git Off My Back
M- DJ (small # tags on both sides can be seen on label scans) (record appears to be unplayed)
The MELO GENTS attended Orange High School in Orange, NEW JERSEY when this 45 was released in 1959. Their local record store, the Music Mart on Main Street in Orange had a special counter display with an 8x10 promo photo of the group accompanied by a "25 box" of their record--unfortunately, their cool ballad "Baby Be Mine" received minimal airplay in the crowded '59 marketplace (it surely didn't help that it was on Warner Bros., not exactly a hip label then....both sides were produced by JOE SENECA, who wrote "Talk to Me" for Little Willie John.....)
