Description
Available at auction are 6 Capitol LP inner sleeves. During the Beatles Era Capitol used 5 different colored inner sleeves. They used different shades on the first one.
12TC-1 is Dark Blue. This sleeve was used on original issues of "Meet the Beatles" and "Beatles' Second Album" and perhaps on some "Something New" issues. There are no seam-splits.
12TC-1 is Aqua Blue. This sleeve was used on original issues of "Something New" and "The Beatles' Story. There are no seam-splits.
PE 12-2AL is Orange Red (Rust). This sleeve was used on "Early Beatles", Beatles VI", and some Beatles '65". There is a 4.5" seam split on the bottom edge center and a 3.25" seam split on the left edge center.
PE 12-2EJ is Olive-Green. It was used on "Help" and "Rubber Soul". There are no seam splits.
PE 12-3BL is Gold. This sleeve was used on original issues of "Yesterday and Today" and "Revolver". No seam-splits.
PE12-4BS is Light Brown (Tan). This sleeve was used on Capitol Records original 1967 issues and on Beatles' LP re-issues in 1967. Some think it may have rarely been used on "Magical Mystery Tour" and "Sgt. Pepper's" issues or re-issues. There are no seam-splits but "FREE" is stenciled in the bottom left hand corner.
