This auction is for SIX 45rpm 7-inch vinyl singles by Elvis Presley, including some hard-to-find collectibles, all sold as one lot. (The first photo above is the A side of all discs, the second photo is the B side of all discs.) Details:

HARD HEADED WOMAN (1:53) backed with DON'T ASK ME WHY (2:07) on the RCA Gold Standard (re-issue) label, catalog number 447-0623. Both sides sound fine, with only a little surface noise. Labels show some scuffing. White generic paper sleeve probably is not original, and only shows some impressions, no splits.

AN AMERICAN TRILOGY (4:23) backed with UNTIL IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO GO (3:56) on the RCA Gold Standard (re-issue) label, catalog number 447-0685. Both sides sound pretty bad, to be honest, with one of those "chewy" surface-noise scratches that sounds crunchy with each revolution. They play through, but you'll want to tear your head off by the time the songs are over, because the noise is so annoying. A side label looks fine, B side is a little scuffed. "RCA Gold Standard" paper sleeve has some minor impressions and other flaws but no splits.

HOW GREAT THOU ART (2:58) backed with HIS HAND IN MINE (3:12) on the RCA Victor label, catalog number 74-0130. Sleeve looks like it literally has been chewed on both bottom corners, with lots of damage. The record itself is a bizarre thing, because the grooves are off center -- which means it sounds terrible when you play it, because the tone arm of your record player will be swaying from side to side, making Elvis sound like a Halloween ghost. Seriously, wouldn't you think a major record label like RCA would be able to print records with their grooves in the right place? Shocking. What makes this even more of a shame is the record otherwise looks like new, even though the sleeve looks like it lost a fight with a pit bull.

JAILHOUSE ROCK (no time listed) backed with TREAT ME NICE (ditto), on the RCA Gold Standard re-issue label, catalog number 447-0619. Some minor crackling surface noise on both sides, but definitely not a disaster. The "Treat Me Nice" B-side label is a little "bubbly," A side label has some scuffs. Generic RCA Gold Standard Series printed color sleeve has some impressions and other flaws but no splits.

CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE (2:59) backed with ROCK-A-HULA BABY (1:58) on the RCA Victor label, catalog number 47-7968. I have to be honest, both sides of this record sound terrible, with LOTS of surface noise. Just take my word for it, you only would want this copy as an artifact, so you can stare at its label and daydream about some long-ago sock hop at the gym where you hoped your date wouldn't notice how excited you were as you pressed close against her and slow-danced under the watchful eyes of some now long-dead chaperone. Sleeve is a generic green paper sleeve (not original), no splits.

HOUND DOG! (2:15) backed with DON'T BE CRUEL (2:03) on the RCA Victor label (and with the picture sleeve), catalog number 47-6604. There is some surface noise crackling on both sides, not disastrous but definitely noticeable. "Hound Dog" label side has some white chipping near bottom left of the bottom arc, otherwise fine. "Don't Be Cruel" label looks fine except for some rubbing around the fine print at the left of the bottom arc. Sleeve has "age browning" and splits at the top corners, a creased bottom right corner and a stain on the right side of the back, but no side or bottom splits. Also, the Elvis signature on the back of the sleeve is printed there on all copies, it is not a genuine signature from The King. (I wish it were!)
