Description
Here is the complete Anthology of American Folk Music compiled by the wild and crazy Harry Smith. The original Folkways pressings of these three 2xLP sets, six LPs of classic Americana—true national treasures in excellent condition! They all have the enclosed unique booklet designed by Harry Smith—pieces of art in themselves.
Not only are these LP sets hard to find on their own, they’re nearly impossible to find all together in one auction!
I’ve tracked them down over the years and decided to pass them on…
1) Volume One (original 50’s pressing, mint booklet, features the truly creepy Fatal Flower Garden!)
Vinyl: VG+>+ (a few light marks--these are quiet records, so you will hear some noise, but nothing distracting)
Cover: VG+>+ (clean, no writing, attached cover, front edge flap split)
2) Volume Two (60’s pressing, mint booklet, features Blind Willie Johnson’s powerful John The Revelator!)
Vinyl: VG+>+ (a few light marks--these are quiet records, so you will hear some noise, but nothing distracting)
Cover: VG++ (super clean, no writing, attached cover)
3) Volume Three (60’s pressing, mint booklet)
Vinyl: VG+>+ (a few light marks--these are quiet records, so you will hear some noise, but nothing distracting)
Cover: VG+>+ (super clean, no writing, attached cover, slight spine discoloration)
To keep the old timey fun going, I’ll also throw in The Watson Family, featuring Doc Watson tearing it up on the porch in Deep Gap, North Carolina—clean LP and cover (top and spine split) on Folkways.
There’s a modest reserve on these and shipping will be $7 in the US (not 1 cent).
