Performance by #11 International Brigade from the SPANISH CIVIL WAR, part of the Antifascist forces fighting against Franco's fascist forces in the prelude to WWII.
RECRODS HAVE BEEN PLAYED FOR SOUND QUALITY. Overall condition averages about 6 out of 10. Visually they look very good. The album book is in very good condition as you can see, about 8/10. See below for more.
6 Songs For Democracy: Discos De Las Brigadas Internacionales was released by Keynote Records, Inc. in July of 1940. Recorded in Barcelona in 1938, some of the songs feature the choir and orchestra of the 11th Spanish Brigade and are both somber and joyful, portraying the struggle of soldiers during the war of the Spanish Republic. The label was founded in 1940 by the owner of The Music Room record store in Manhattan. The label went bankrupt in early 1948. Its assets were acquired by Mercury Records later that year. Overall condition averages about 6 out of 10. RECORDS HAVE BEEN LISTENED TO -- They get progressively better, with Record 1 being around a 5/10, Record 2 = 6/10, and Record 3 = 7/10.
And you can see the hardcover album is still very nice, fully together and intact, with a few dings and dents to be sure but very nice for 85 years old!
