Montesas: Hipsville Teen Party
Debut LP with 16 songs of the best beat from Europe, that will make you dance all nite long ! Great vocals of Marcel Bontempi with the 2 sensual Montesitas on backing vocals. Is it The Shake, Is it the Watusi or is it The Twist! The MONTESAS do `em all!

Montesas: Midnight Beat
Next to the mighty COOL JERKS this band is the best we can offer here when it comes to 60's Beat, Shake & Roll! The cover is again an incredible one..designed by Marcel Bontempi!

Montesas: Rockers... Shakers! => VERGRIFFEN!!!
Die Montesas sind eine Beatband. Punkt.
absolviert: Larsen-records Festival (F), After Dark Garage Festival (F), Festival Beat (I), Wipe-Out-Weekend (E), Bieler-See-Open Air (CH), Summer Safari (D), Cosmic Trip (F) usw…

The Satelliters: It's all Hashish
With their '99 release "What's up with Timothy Dee?" hailed as the album of the year (!!!) by none other than Bomp, and after no less than ten years of them being on'n'around the moderndaze '60s garage beat scene, I must say that I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I've never had a chance to hear any of their records. Thankfully, my eyes (and ears for that matter) are now being open with the "smell" of "Hashish", while The Satelliters have just proven their belonging to the "Children of Nuggets" family, making Rhino's future box set project of the same name meaningless, unless it is decided to include them after all (which, unfortunately, isn't the initial idea). Coming from Germany, it is obvious that the band has an equal admiration for both British and American mid-to-end'60s sounds, sorted in an almost imaginary chronological order. The freaky beat of the harp-wailing opener "Go away", shares a bit of the snarly delivery of The Stairs, and they continue with the garage-punk fuzzfest of "Sweet sensation", which they revisit a bit later on, in "Stoneage man". "Anything I do" is like a combination of the influences, sounding kinda like "I Can't explain"-by-way-of-American-garage-punk, "The last complaint of Clarence Man" and "The first rays of light" are a pair of garage-punk-goin'-folkydelic tunes, while "Tomorrow is another day" goes the other way 'round, like Dylan-goin'-garage-punk ...... even before he wen't electric!!!, and the appropriately chosen closer "1969-The end of time", is a Stooges-like heavy psych, making a statement that perfectly represents The Satelliters' concept.
As for the choice of covers, they are just as representative of the above diversity, ranging from the primordial garage punk of We The People's "You byrn me up & down" (sic), through The Association's "Five man band" (sic), to The Small Faces' "Wham bam thank you mam".

Auf ihrem fünften Album für das US-Label Dionysus ziehen die Darmstädter wieder alle Register des schmutzigen Garagen-Beat-Punks, 10 Songs beladen mit Fuzz und Fieber, Hammond und Härte, außerdem 2 gelungenen Covers ("you byrn me up and down"/We The People und "five man band"/The Association).
Flight 13

The Satelliters sind vier Deutsche, die 1993 anfingen Songs mit starkem 60s, Garage, Beat und R'n'B Einflüssen u.a von Sonics oder Kinks zu
spielen.
Trotz einiger Wechsel in ihrer
Der Hammond-Orgel Kracher "The First Rays of
Light", der Garage Punker "Stoneage Man" oder der Vorzeige Psych-Song "1969 - The End of Time".
Auch deshalb ein wirklich gutes Stück Musik, very british, very cool.

The fifth album by the Satelliters evinces little in the way of creative growth, and in this brand of retro garage rock, that's a good thing.
The Satelliters are far more than Germany's answer to the Hives, because this five-piece cares less about the pose than the sound: perfect doses of fuzztone guitar, just-so stabs of piercing Farfisa organ, and snaky hand percussion fill all of the songs. Interestingly, however, the covers aren't perfect replications of the originals (including the Association's "Five Man Band" and We the People's "You Byrn Me Up and Down"), but rather, smoking rave-ups on comparatively effete originals that these days somehow sound more "authentic" than the originals...The band's own songs fare much better, particularly the yowling "Go Away," which matches the aggression of the early Pretty Things, and the organ-driven hard psychedelia of the closing "1969: The End of Time."

Leopold Kraus Wellenkapelle: Schwarzwald Fieber
What a surprise, as I never heard of this band before (shame on me)! This album is full of totally amaizing Surf(instros), beat & Soundtrack style HipMusic...you´ll need that!! This band not even plays their instruments to Perfection, they also put so much fun in their music...aaaRRggH! While listening to this disk you´ll immediately think of eastern german 60´s AMIGA style Instro Sound, you hear a lot from their friends THE MONTESAS (yep, MARCEL BONTEMPI designed the nice coverart)..or even a sound similar to AGENTENMUSIK! I cannot do more then recommend this CD to you, my dearloved friend of tasteful music!

Goldmine Standard

The Goldmine Grading System:

Mint (M)
Absolutely perfect in every way - certainly never played, possibly even still sealed. Should be used sparingly as a grade, if at all.

Near Mint (NM or M-)
A nearly perfect record.
The record should show no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling.  An LP jacket should have no creases, folds, seam-splits or any other noticeable similar defect. No cut-out holes, either. And of course, the same should be true of any inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves, and the like.  Basically, an LP in Near Mint condition looks as if you just got it home and removed the shrink wrap.

Very Good Plus (VG+)
A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.
Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.  The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play.
Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, turned-up corners, or a slight seam-split. An LP jacket may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print or sold at a discount.
In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. All but the most mint-crazy collectors will find a Very Good Plus record highly acceptable.

Very Good (VG)
Many of the defects found in the VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as well as light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.  Labels will be marred by writing, or have tape [TOL] or stickers [SOL] (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers [TOC] or [SOC]. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+)
Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put on a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear (on a styrene record, the groove will be starting to turn white). A jacket or sleeve will have seam-splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.

Poor (P), Fair (F)
The record is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP jacket barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon.
