The CRAZY DATE side of this HAS been reissued and a few reissues were listed but NO ORIGINALS LIKE MINE. ------------------------------ AND PLEASE NOTE: Because I've been disappointed many times by such an action spoiling my hopes of winning the bidding on something I really wanted, I DO NOT END AUCTIONS EARLY. CRAZY DATE (written by Dave Reynolds), performed by the Crazy Teens, Side A (sort of a spoken word rockabilly type song with repetitious guitar-centric rockabilly background music) and REBEL BOOGIE (written by Dave Reynolds), performed by James Farris, Ronnie Foster, Billy Ward & Dave Reynolds (I'm betting that was, basically, the personel of the "Crazy Teens" from side A). Instrumental & somewhat Rockabilly (again, guitar-centric - I couldn't hear any piano) boogie woogie music. Scott Records SF 19, 45rpm record, single, no times given but BOOGIE is shorter than CRAZY. Manufactured by Scott Recording Laboratory, Tuscaloosa Alabama. Probably Tuscaloosa and/or University of Alabama musicians. SOMEWHAT contemporaneous paper sleeve but it's not original. PLEASE READ CONDITION STATEMENT CAREFULLY: Record graded by actually listening to both sides with a mono record player. Using Spin Connection's grading policy for 45 rpm records, it would rate, aurally, VG+ on both sides - there is surface noise but very few in the way of scratches. At quick glance, the record looks really good but by looking CAREFULLY at the record, the sides rate only VG. About 4 inches of the circumference has some slight warping at its lip (or very edge) affecting maybe 10 grooves. Hard-to-see with a quick glance but you definitely notice it when the record is playing ... so if you are totally into how the vinyl looks, you need to know that. Fortunately, the warping did NOT affect how my tone arm and needle played the record. As I said, it's difficult-to-see at first and my needle easily played through it with no additional "weight" to the tone arm. Said "warpiness" does add slightly to the surface noise level for that fraction of a second when the needle passes that part of the record. The recording sounds as if it may have been done in a garage. The instrumental mixing for CRAZY is not anything to brag about. It's somewhat better on BOOGIE but these are issues inherent in the recording itself. Both labels Excellent - showing only very light wear. Sitting 8 feet from my record player I could hear some of the surface noise but the decibel level of same did NOT hinder my "appreciation" of the music. Accompanied by a somewhat contemporaneous [within 10(?) years but NOT original] paper sleeve from another record company. I have been grading records and selling records successfully by mail since 1962. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ (the fine print ...
