"Dancing Time n°2" 

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTLY RARE+++ ORIGINAL 1963 EP 7" RECORD on PHILIPS WEST AFRICAN LABEL. King Kennytone, trumpeter and stalwart of the Nigerian Highlife scene of the 50s and 60s was the foremost purveyor of African twist in the early 60s. Following the massive dance craze of The Twist in the US and UK in 1961/2, Kennytone recorded his African Twist numbers at the same time in both English and Igbo. As with later imported styles such as soul and funk many broadcasters and journalists of the day criticised him for being concentrating on music that wasn’t African in origin but his records were huge hits and endure to this day (especially with the recent resurgence in late ’50s and early ’60s black Rock n’ Roll and R&B). GREAT FOR ANY RARITY'S COLLECTOR !!!

Label : PHILIPS WEST AFRICAN RECORDS - 1963 - HOLLAND 

Sleeve : Great PS, still clean and in really very good condition, with a little writing on back, but just look at scanned pictures, and ask for more details !

Vinyl : vinyl is visually clean, but with wear traces and marks, but it sounds quite pretty good (with some noises), but please just listen carefully to each side's extracts to make your own opinion ! Don't hesitate for any question about it !

I don’t use the grading system, because of too many  disputes and different interpretations (some say vg for vg+, some others say nm for ex, and finally, nobody really knows ! That’s why I prefer you to listen to extract and look at pictures which you can enlarge. I describe things such as they are, I try to do it the best I can, but you can ask for any question, then I’ll try to give you the answer as soon as possible ! Just look at my feedbacks !
