Description
60s soul acetate. I believe that the tunes are by two different artists. A-side appears to be by the Marvees. It's a slow-dance ballad sung by a male. The flip is a midtempo (unidentified) girl group tune. Titles and artist are handwritten in pen on A-side and B-side title is written in pencil. This acetate was crudely produced; you can hear extraneous background conversation during the early notes of the ballad and the girl group song is abruptly cut off at the end. I believe that this was probably a pre-production effort and that a more-polished version would follow. For the most part, the acetate's surface appears VG+. However--on the ballad side--about 1/8" from the end of the grooves, there is a blister in the lacquer and the lacquer is split. Because of this, the needle will stick and cannot proceed with the final 10-12 seconds ( my estimate). Unfortunately, these acetates are very fragile and unforgiving for any blemishes to the surface. Still, an interesting 60s soul artifact; I don't believe these cuts were commercially released. Soundclips will be included. We combine postage for winnings within a 10-day to two-week span. If you are bidding on different listings, please disregard the automatically-generated invoices from eBay and we will combine postage costs for you.
