RARE 1964 MONO advance release WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL, signed in bold ink on the back cover by Los Angeles rock radio & TV personality "Wink Martindale" who no doubt use to own this album for radio play at KFWB in Los Angeles...
Not the first but definitely the most popular rock instrumental combo, the Ventures scored several hit singles during the 1960s ...most notably "Walk-Don't Run" and "Hawaii Five-O" — but made their name in the growing album market...
The Ventures, who claim Seattle and Tacoma as hometowns, have been acknowledged as the most influential surf/garage-'twang/reveb guitar' rock band in history. The band's hits include "Telstar/ The Lonely Bull," "Ram-Bunk-Shush," "Perfidia" and the theme to TV's "Hawaii Five-O."
Here, their early 60's second album, and one of their best -- guitars a-go-go in swinging raw bongo-beat styled surfy rock'n'garage.... in the smoother groove of the Trashmen & Fendermen....

CONDITION: The cover is still vibrant and colorful, stiff and strong, talking about a near 50 year old original...tiny promo sticker at top front, large "Audition Record" in red stamp on back, Wink Martindale's authentic signature on back; hard to see clear tape in seams. Has no bends and still display item worthy at VG(+) with no shelf wear ! Been in careful hands!
The vinyl : Well taken care of...Wink Martindale knew how to handle records carefully at the station, all shiny clean, both sides "EX" (excellent) ...very clean, plays without any distraction, near 50 years limited white label promotional - a good bet to be one of the few survivors of such - this clean!
