Description
The Knights HOT ROD HIGH 33 rpm LP (Capitol Records T 2189 High Fidelity Recording, Monophonic Microgroove Recording) The Knights were not an actual band, but a studio group assembled by surf and hot rod producer Gary Usher. These studio players also worked with the Beach Boys,Jan & Dean, including Tommy Tedesco, Glen Campbell, Leon Russell, Frank Capp, Ray Pohlman, Hal Blaine, and Jerry Cole. Original 1964 issue on Capitol in July 1964, Hot Rod High combined revved-up hot rod themes ("Midnight Auto," "Three Wheeler," "Hot Rod U.S.A."), high-school hijinks ("Ditch Day," "Skippin' School," Chuck Berry's "School Days"), and cover versions of "Be True to Your School," "Rock Around the Clock," and "I Get Around." VERY GOOD condition, a few surface scratches but no skips and minimal surface noise when played. Really very clean for it's age. I played both sides to be sure. I was really happy with the quality of the CD I made from this LP. Cover not torn or split, usual corner wear and it does have the initials C.J. in very light ballpoint pen on front cover. Original sleeve. FREE SHIPPING to the United States. All others email for a quote. Please bid responsibly, we do not refund unless we feel like we have truly misrepresented the item.
