" DISRAELI GEARS "
Cream teamed up with producer Felix Pappalardi for their second album, Disraeli Gears, a move that helped push the power trio toward psychedelia and also helped give the album a thematic coherence missing from the debut. This, of course, means that Cream get further away from the pure blues improvisatory troupe they were intended to be, but it does get them to be who they truly are: a massive, innovative power trio. The blues still courses throughout Disraeli Gears -- the swirling kaleidoscopic "Strange Brew" is built upon a riff lifted from Albert King -- but it's filtered into saturated colors, as it is on "Sunshine of Your Love," or it's slowed down and blurred out, as it is on the ominous murk of "Tales of Brave Ulysses." It's a pure psychedelic move that's spurred along by Jack Bruce's flourishing collaboration with Pete Brown. Together, this pair steers the album away from recycled blues-rock and toward its eccentric British core, for with the fuzzy freakout "Swlabr," the music hall flourishes of "Dance the Night Away," the swinging "Take It Back," and of course, the old music hall song "Mother's Lament," this is a very British record. Even so, this crossed the ocean and also became a major hit in America, because regardless of how whimsical certain segments are, Cream are still a heavy rock trio and Disraeli Gears is a quintessential heavy rock album of the '60s. Yes, its psychedelic trappings tie it forever to 1967, but the imagination of the arrangements, the strength of the compositions, and especially the force of the musicianship make this album transcend its time as well.

Musically, Cream was never - ever - as superlative as on these 11 tracks, which clearly and with flying colors passed the test of time - much better , in fact, than their subsequent albums did. The album contains their two greatest and best known hit singles ("Sunshine of your love" and "Strange Brew") as well as a couple of tracks which Cream made famous. Don't miss an opportunity to own the very first, original version of the greatest, classic  album by the very first super-group ever. Identification Marked on Label  SD 33-232  (ST-C-671130CT) Machine Stamp Etched side 1  STC  671129-1A  / T   C 25 Marked on Cover  SD 33-232 First Terre Haute Pressing (CT) with variant metal processing from other Terre Haute Pressing in database.
Condition Vinyl is visually with "new vinyl" shine, a cpl ugly marks S1 and a cpl faint S2 thankfully had no affect on NM- sound, intro to S2 Trk 1 a lil surface noise shortly then NM- sound. WONDERFUL! Labels are EX+ with lite spindle marrs and a MFG defect minor Original ATCO Promo Inner sleeve is EX- with a frayed opening Cover is a GEM with a nice sheen clean wrinkle free front, edge wear along bottom only, rear panel even nicer minimal gloss loss, a CLASSIC COLLECTIBLE BEST PSYCH ART LP COVER my opinion NM-
Visual Grading Under Normal lighting
M   New Unopened as in the the original package, unused NM+ being as close to new as possible, no marks, no significant issue's, Opened package NM Vinyl is just that, appearing unplayed, unused with no visible usage marks/ accidents/or sleeve scuffs. Just a hint of non Mint! NM- maybe a hint of a previous handling, hard to see.  EX+ showing a little more hints of usage EX now beginning to see a feather lite mark or two, paper scuffs, none deep, absolute no sound issue's, possible occasional lite surface noise .  EX- just progressively showing a few more signs of previous usage VG+ slightly more issue's than EX- VG now beginning to see and hear more distinctly the fact that this is used vinyl record enjoyable listen too but showing plenty of usage/wear. Still no serious sound issues skips or stik spots VG- no loud overpowering sound issue's but plenty of lite marks, beginning to hear louder tic's and surface noise G+ Plays through with no skips or stik spots G   This is the lowest grading scale although playable you may hear continuous surface noise, louder tics, cliks and or pops. G- Now surface noise is occasionally overpowering, may have a skip or two, plays well enough to appreciate. Fair  A space filler, a very rare specimen, serious wear and sound issue's
The Cover / Sleeve and Inner Sleeves are graded using the above scale with plenty of pic's and full descriptions of the particular condition.
Play Grading    Usually when there are visible deep marks or potential marks that may effect the sound quality, I will Test Play these areas to see what if any effects they may have. * This is an very opinionated area of grading, different levels of tolerance, realizing the natural sound of vinyl records new or used, different play back equipment, etc.  Praise the Seller for even opening  his mouth with Sound Quality Opinions! My idea of EX and yours of G+? So just take the comments, look at the Seller's Report Card/ Feed Back, combine with the Visual Grade and the Cost and make your decision! If you receive a Record/Item that is appears to be a definite mistake or intentional description error, than immediately contact the Seller and POLITELY  ask to return the item for a full refund or make an offer of acceptance to keep AS IS! No need to involve EBAY in the return process unless one or both Party's are unreasonable.
