We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.

Amon Düül II, came this unit that seemed more serious about making music, other than as a social and political statement, Out of the future ashes of the Munich-based hippy commune of Amon Düül II, came this unit that seemed more serious about making music, other than as a social and political statement, Amon Duul II rose like a phoenix and built around Chris Karrer (fuzz guitar), F.U.Rogner (bass) and Dieter Serfas (drums) and reputation growing, signed a deal with Liberty records and recording their FIRST album in early 69, with two more members: drummer Peter Leopold (from the earliest Amon DuuL 1 group) and bassist Dave Anderson (pre HAWKWIND, pushing F.U.Rogner onto organ & effects). With two star guests, Christian Burchard ( from Embryo, crosstown rivals), & Holger Trutzsch Turkish drums (Popol Vuh, also from the city), produced by Passport's Kübler, and graced with an astonishing psyched-out tree-and-sky artwork (courtesy of F.U. Rogner) ...

Their sound is somewhat the full-on revolutionary psych of the sister group Amon Duul 1 and much more accomplished psych groups like Pink Floyd and the Jefferson Airplane, yet having that typical early Krautrock raw sound of Can's Monster Movie.
Opening the album on an Indian sitar and Burchard's vibes, the short Kanaan is an invitation to glide some 10 miles into the stratosphere on grass smoked-filled clouds for a 4-minutes short flight. The much slower strating Dem Guten Schonen Wahren turns quickly into a Pink Floyd-like freak out (PIPER GATES OF DAWN -era) with its repetitive riff (but not too much, either) featuring those wonderful Barrett/Waters acid-howling vocals and other effects like a semblance of Gregorian choirs and tons of other acid interventions -what a trip! Luzifers Gholom imay be the centerpiece of this first side, an ever-changing piece filled with an Eastern-sounding enhancements disappearing to let in the drums and bongos duet rhyming the track to chitter-chatter-like scat vocals and wild stop/go riffs, decadent ambiance and grass fumes floating about. The Henriette piece is a martial beat with high-priestess vocals from female singer Renate, yet wish was longer to make an impact on the album.
Of course, the album's tour de force is the side-long PHALLUS DEI with plenty of freaky spacey ~ early PINK FLOYD ominous effects filling the first few minutes, much reminiscent also of earliest Tangerine Dream, Popol Vuh, Cluster, & acid prog Kraftwerk classic psychedelic side-long improvised adventure. Both Peter Leopold (drums) and Chris Karrer (fuzz guitar) pull the track out in open field under (pre-HAWKWIND) Dave Andersson's pulsing and hypnotic bass (you can hear early Hawkwind to come). Soon within, a weird sort of space whisper from lady-Renate (not unlike Gille Smyth's space whispers) over Pink Floyd-like organ, a lengthy percussion duet filled with weird acid-sounds, including the eastern-sounding oboe trips, and still later Chris Karrer's un-tuned flipped violin amid hypnotic slow guitar grooves, until these excursions landing among the highs of successive layers featured over this monster side-long track.
Definitely one of AMON DUUL II's crowning achievements.

- The cover: rated: "Ex" (excellent) Very fragile laminated front cover, back cover (M-) very clean ... front has very light signs of previous life, still far better than any other surviving original 56 years of age & climbing! The images are as vivid as they were in 1967, IF EVEN found ... Well preserved considering - tough to find better ...having no delete marks, no split seams, minor handling lamination crinkles at edges (very little/faint) otherwise no bends, and no writing ...
