On auction is a job lot of SEVEN DEMONSTRATION COPY 45 rpm singles all released on the LONDON label in the 1960s.

The demos are –

Shirley Ellis – Ever see a diver kiss his wife while the bubbles dance about above the water/ Stardust. London HLR 10021. The vinyl is in VG condition (it has one scuff on Side A – which does not affect play and a mark on the B side which also does not affect play) and it plays very well. The DJ has written the duration times of the tracks - in ink - on the labels.
Al De Lory – Yesterday / Traffic Jam. London HLU 9999. This 45 is quite a scarce one in issue form where it is valued at £20 in the Record Collector: it is not often seen in demo form. The vinyl is generally in EX to EX+ condition – with hairline marks on one part of the A side not affecting play. This piano and instrumental version of Paul McCartney’s Yesterday plays very nicely indeed as does the more up-tempo B side Traffic Jam.
Shirley Ellis – The puzzle song / I see it, I like it, I want it. London HLR 9973. On the A side the vinyl is generally in nice VG+ /EX- condition. The B side has several surface marks not affecting play. This demo plays very well.
Burt Bacharach & His Orchestra & Chorus – Trains and Boats and Planes / Wives and Lovers. London HLR 9968. This is in lovely EX and plays superbly. There is the tiniest of tiny edge warps on a tiny part of the disc. It does not affect play in the slightest.
Margaret Whiting – Only love can break a heart / Where do I stand. London HLU 10133. This Bacharach and David composition is in lovely EX condition and it plays very well indeed.
Little Eva – The Loco Motion /He is the boy. London HL 9581. Vinyl is VG on the iconic Loco Motion A side – and plays and sounds very nice. However there are some marks (including a deep one) on the B side which causes He is the boy to play with a click. There is some writing on the labels [see scan].
Crystals – All grown up / Phil Spector Group - Irving (Jaggered sixteenths) –. London HLU 9919. This white-label demo (...doesn’t it look great!) has a name written on the B side label. Vinyl is visually in VG to VG- condition with some marks BUT nothing deep and certainly nothing that affects play. Disc plays very well.
