Description

On an announced 78rpm 7" single-sided U.S. Berliner 1648X, baritone

J.W. Myers sings "The Vacant Chair."


There is a number etched near the center hole (2798) which I am

taking to be a recording date of 2/7/98, although I could be wrong.

Paul Charosh's marvelous Berliner Gramophone Records book,

states that although no specimen of the disc had been reported, it

was listed in a Supplemental List, National Gramophone Company of

April 1, 1898, so my date guess can't be too far off.


The record has numerous (not uncommon) Berliner pressing dimples,

but otherwise is in E- to V+ condition with much surface gloss.
