Here's a single that will appeal to funky folk, as well as the Northern Soul fraternity. When Billy Sha-Rae recorded "Let's Do It Again", he must have had some of James Brown's blood flowing through his veins. The stabbing brass riffs at the end of the middle break are vintage Godfather material. The track was recorded at Pac 3 Studios, based in the city of Dearborn, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit). Jack Ashford - the Funk Brother who wielded his tambourine on numerous Motown recordings - was the man who arranged the session. It's therefore fitting that the flip should be one of his own songs, written with Lorraine Chandler, and originally done by Eddie Parker for the Aware label. John Manship currently prices Parker's handling at £4500. That's 45 times more than he puts on a copy of Billy Sha-Rae's cover. The single seen on the "Let's Do It Again" sound link is of the later reissue, which has a blue label. As you can see, the copy for sale here has the maroon label that shows it to be an original 1971 issue. The "I'm Gone" sound link shows a French Disque Vogue release, with picture cover.

This one is currently priced by Manship at £100 for a minter.
The vinyl is very, very near to mint, and both sides play like new.
The A-side label is immaculate. The B-side label has some mild to medium ring-wear (see scan).
The edges are completely chip-free.
