Description:

This listing is for a 10" 78 rpm record from Columbia and performed by The Home Town Boys. This was part of the Columbia Hillbilly Series and I think was recorded in 1931 with Riley Puckett on guitar, Gid Tanner on banjo and Bill Helms on fiddle. Helms also wrote the two songs on this record. Riley Puckett was known as the American Country Music Pioneer. For several years Puckett played and sang with the Home Town Boys, a string-band ensemble composed of Atlanta-area musicians. They made their debut on an Atlanta based radio station and remained one of the station's most popular acts. This record is blue in color.

This record has been played and was obviously enjoyed. I see many scratches and much wear. I do not have a turntable that can play this record so cannot address sound quality. The label is still intact, with some wear issues but readable. We do not have the original sleeve or album cover.
